Homes for Heroes

About our Homes for Heroes Program

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, Texas Homes for Heroes program addresses the growing need for affordable housing for our community's first responders, veterans, and school employees. This initiative is designed to create sustainable, mixed-income neighborhoods and help us to build more homes for those who need them most.

Honoring Those Who Serve

This program is specifically designed to support the people who protect and educate our community. We are targeting a population that, despite their essential roles, often struggles with homeownership. It's a way for us to give back to the heroes who give so much to us every day.

A New Model

Unlike our traditional program, Homes for Heroes participants will acquire their own financing. To make the process more accessible for these busy professionals, we are modifying the sweat equity requirement, honoring their commitment to our community.

Building Community

The goal of this program is to foster strong, resilient communities. By building mixed-income neighborhoods, we are creating a more vibrant place to live and ensuring that all members of our community have a safe and secure place to call home.
